I tell stories that show how our vertical relationships (faith systems) affect our horisontal relationships (family, community, ecology).
I do this at Kerkbode, a faith news platform with a commitment to digital innovation. We serve the congregations of the Dutch Reformed Church in Southern Africa.
Before becoming editor of Kerkbode, I worked as a journalist and video editor for Media24 in various capacities and at different publications from 2006 to 2017.
I have a degree in Theology (B.Th) and and a (B.Phil Hons) in Journalism, both from Stellenbosch University.
I enjoy facilitation work. I have completed a Film Impact Screening Facilitator short course throught the University of Cape Town’s Centre for Film and Media Studies as well as Code For South Africa’s 3 month Data Journalism Bootcamp aimed at introducing data literacy into mainstream newsrooms.
